Essence of Iman [Faith] in Allah by Haji Zainol Abideen
Bismillah-hir-rahman-nir-rahim
In the Name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
As Muslims, it is important that from time to time, we remind each other about the basics of our faith, the Deen of Al Islam. What we as Believers need to know in order that we get to pass from ourselves the true knowledge of Islam to our loved ones and from them to the next generation and from that next generation to the ones who follow.
This is how the Blessed Rasulullah, Khatamun Nabiyyin, Sayyidul Mursalin, Prophet Muhammad ibni Abdullah, Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam enjoined us to spread from him, even it be just a verse from the Al Qur’anul Karim, the Final Testament and Scripture from Allah the Almighty to all Mankind.
Islam is not a religion followed blindly by those who are ignorant [jahil] but The Only Way of Life that was revealed by Allah, Our Supreme God, Master and Creator of everything that is both visible and that of the Unseen yet which exists.
Every thought, every action, every movement that we make or do has its meanings and significance. It is not enough that you say that you believe BUT do not really know what it is exactly that you say you do believe in. Too hard for you? Okay, let me brief you further about it.
The mark of a Muslim [Believer in Allah] is that he or she knows exactly what he or she claims to believe [have faith] in! Allah is the Supreme Creator of us all but we as His Creation do not see him [visually] for He Chooses to remain Unseen [Al-Ghaib].
Just because we as mere mortals can’t see Him doesn’t mean that He is not there or doesn’t exist. Still can’t get it?
Okay, I will try to explain further. Let’s start with ourselves.
We are alive now and in human form, right? We have a physical form and are the only creation of Allah apart from the Djinns who are capable of intelligence and free will to choose between what’s right and wrong.
Now, regarding us being alive and having the faculty of reason. If you can read and understand all that I am sharing here, that means that you sir or madam, brother or sister are capable of understanding and do possess a level of intelligence to know what I am sharing.
Good for you. Now, let me ask you. What is it that makes us alive right now?
What? You are alive because your heart is pumping and all other organs are functioning as well?
Alhamdulillah. That’s very good to know.
Now, who or what causes your heart to beat or keep on beating?
No scientist has the answer. The best that a doctor or surgeon can do after doing all that he or she can do in trying to revive a patient on their operating table will be to let off a heavy sigh, shake their head, shrug in despair and tell the nurse or operating theatre staff to record the Time of Death.
An interesting GIF that I found online that has nothing to do with this article but just added it here to demonstrate that Death will find us no matter what and our end will be not a second too early or a second too late.
The brightest scientist or world heralded genius can’t foresee or stifle his or her end despite all their intelligence can conjure up with all the latest gadgetry or gizmos that Science can come up with.
Where are the Einsteins, the Thomas Edisons, the Khwarizmi’s , the Newtons, whoever you can think of that were regarded as the brightest of the best today?
Gone. Returned to the Creator. The physical form has died. Even if you embalm and preserve the body, it is nothing but just a dead cadaver. Preserved with embalming fluids and whatever but there’s no life in it. The heart has long ceased to function.
The smartest of the smartest genius minds here on Earth can’t give life to a long dead and preserved heart. Even the greatest so called magicians and illusionists are dead themselves.
Why did they die? How come those legendary persons did not survive or escape the grasps of the Malaikatul Maut? Sayyidina Izra’il Alaihis Salam. Where are they now?
It is entirely up to Allah, our Supreme Lord and Creator as to whether He chooses to bestow Life to one and take it back from whomsoever that Allah Chooses!
We come into existence and cease to be by Allah’s Will and His’s Only.
Allah, Ar Rahman, Ar Rahim. Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
He gives life even to the billions of people who choose to deny Him. He continues to shower upon those who choose to disbelieve either out of their own ignorance or wilful stubbornness as a result of their humongous egos yet He bestows upon them the goodness of this earthly life but not that of the Yaum al Akhirat. The Realm of the Hereafter.
As a Muslim, we who have come to study and realize the temporariness of this Realm of Earthly Existence choose to submit to the Will and Commandments of Allah disregarding whatever the Kafirun’s ~ Disbelievers have to say or opinionate.
For a Mukmin obeys what Allah and His Final Messenger commands and enjoins upon us. All these sharing of knowledge is but a tiny attempt on my part to help you start thinking as to who you really are?
Who is it who created you? Gave you life? Your Faculty of Reason? Your ability to choose or decide?
This is just a preliminary step that I am asking you to take in your journey to find the Truth about who you really are and Who is the True God to Whom you owe your existence?
Not a figment of your imagination or that you can buy at your local religious paraphernalia supermarket or store.
The True God Who expects nothing from you except your devotion and submission to Him. And to Him Only.
God Who does not need you to offer any food, flowers, milk, candles or offerings to Him.
Do not belittle God to be that object to which you genuflect momentarily in an impure state and then hurry off to whatever you deem is so important yet not realizing that with each passing second, your Death Clock ticks closer and closer to your final and ultimate end. Here. In this 3rd Realm of your existence.
Think my dear brothers and sisters. You and me. We are not here by chance. No sirree.
Each of us are unique and special. We owe it to ourselves to really, consciously study as to how we came to be? Why we are who we seem to be and where will we end up in just the next second or moment in this realm of being?
It’s time for me to take leave of this sharing. Will continue later in the next posting if He allows me. Insya Allah.
Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah.
Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.
